AgriMetis™ Adds Research Experience and Leadership

LUTHERVILLE, MD, August 24th, 2016 - As AgriMetis LLC continues to grow and develop new agricultural chemical products, the company has augmented the biology and chemistry expertise on its Science Advisory Board (SAB) through the recent recruitment of Dr. Huimin Zhao and Dr. Olivier Loiseleur and the appointment of Dr. Philip Goelet.

“The AgriMetis SAB and team represent world class research leadership in biology, biochemistry, and chemistry,” said Dr. Roger Kemble, Board of Directors AgriMetis and Chair of the SAB, adding that “Drs. Zhao, Loiseleur, and Goelet will deliver to AgriMetis significant scientific leadership in their fields.”

Dr. Zhao is the Steven L. Miller Chair Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Zhao has extensive experience in the development and applications of synthetic biology tools to address society’s most daunting challenges in health, energy, and sustainability, and in the fundamental aspects of enzyme catalysis, cell metabolism, and gene regulation.

Dr. Loiseleur is Senior Team Leader and Syngenta Science Fellow at Syngenta Crop Protection AG and replaces Dr. Jerome Cassayre (also of Syngenta) on the SAB. Dr. Loiseleur’s responsibilities include scientific leadership for chemical research activities from the discovery to the early development of new insecticides for Syngenta Crop Protection and Seed Care R&D.

Dr. Goelet is a successful scientist and entrepreneur. Dr. Goelet is a principal of Acidophil LLC and was the founding CEO of AgriMetis. His transition to the SAB occurs concurrently with his election as Chairman of the Board of AgriMetis.

The AgriMetis technology platform is at the interface of biology, biochemistry, and chemistry. AgriMetis’ scientific approach is multidisciplinary and integrated, which allows AgriMetis to exploit areas of chemical space and production routes that are inaccessible to others. Steve Tuttle, President and CEO of AgriMetis, said: “The addition of Drs. Zhao, Loiseleur, and Goelet will strengthen our world class SAB and help AgriMetis deliver better products faster.”

In a related move, AgriMetis is pleased to announce that Dr. Brian Green has been named Vice President of Research and Development. Mr. Tuttle commented, “We are fortunate to have such talented technical leadership and excellent track record of developing agricultural products.  Brian was an AgriMetis co-founder and has been instrumental in building the AgriMetis research and development portfolio since its inception.”  In his new leadership role, Dr. Green will continue to develop a long range strategic research and development plan and will focus the R&D team efforts on achieving AgriMetis’ goals of discovery, development, and delivery of sustainable crop protection products.
